june’s tune.

1 Jul

June was a jam-packed month for me!

It started out with a quick weekend trip to Munich with my friend Laura and a day trip to the Neuschwanstein Castle nearby.

Then, I spent a week in Madrid with Uncle Casey and my Aunt Melinda and explored the Royal Palace, 100 Montaditos, and the Teleférico.

My Aunt and I took Spain’s high-speed train, the AVE  to Barcelona for two nights! Fabulous. We sipped sangria and I fell in love with Picasso’s “Las Meninas” collection at the Museu Picasso.

I had a tearful good-bye with my students at the elementary school where I spent the last nine months: Colegio Leopoldo Calvo Sotelo, and then I spent my last few days in Madrid finishing my 100 Montaditos challlenge, saying bye to my friends, and making new blog friends :-).

Now, I’m back at my family’s home in southern California and getting back into the routine of being in America – so far, so good.

The month ended last night with a trip to my favorite restaurant, Ladyface Ale Companie, with two of my friends from Cal, Jenn and Amanda. We also indulged my lack of fro-yo with a trek over to Menchie’s. It was great to see them and catch up on very important sorority gossip.

Cheseboro IPA. Love.

Jenn, Amanda, and Ladyface. They may be mocking me with their pose.

I better ramp up my mileage this week...

I’m excited for everything on tap for July: apartment hunting in Los Angeles, a 4th of July 10k in Oxnard, and a possible family trip up to Santa Cruz where my brother will be attending school in the fall. The last 3 days of July will be spent in Las Vegas, Nevada and the countdown has officially begun!

What was the coolest thing you did in June? And what are you most looking forward to in July?

Isn’t it crazy how much life can change in a month! I am welcoming July, but I am really looking forward to August! Vacation in Menorca and “HOME, home in States!”

So happy to see you are settling in nicely at home!
