a taste of spain.

17 Aug

With a break from orientation activities today, I built in a little bit of time for some neighborhood exploring! My friend Tina, who I met in Madrid and lives in the greater LA area before heading back to Madrid in a month, came down to West Hollywood for lunch at Taste on Melrose.

I checked out the menu online before Tina arrived and was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a “stimulus” special for lunch – basically a pasta or sandwich and a side salad for $8.50! Hard to beat – especially at this super posh place.

mixed green salad + chicken and roasted pepper sandwich.

tina at taste!

It was great trying a new place in the neighborhood (two thumbs up, at least for lunch – next will HAVE to be happy hour…) and catching up on Spain gossip with Tina before she jets off for round 2 in the Spanish capital and her new apartment in the city center!

Anyone do anything fun with their Wednesday?

I love Taste! Delicious food and great ambiance. Please tell me you tried the truffle mac & cheese. If not, we must go soon because it’s the best macaroni I’ve ever eaten!!
